• Help to develop a national structured mentoring program
• Help distribute CFC flyers; gala flyers; and exhibit flyers
• Make monthly contacts with scholarship students across America. Contacts may be made by card, telephone, or visit with students
• Help review students' records for scholarship awards
• Help make home visits as part of the review process
• Help mail out "thank- you letters" to CFC donors
• Help mail our calendars to distinguished black women and sale requests for calendars, books, posters, scholarship applications
• Help sell calendars, books, posters at vending events with members and independently
• Help develop a national marketing plan!
• Help implement BISA's annual gala luncheon
• Sell gala tickets, obtain sponsors -- private, public, individual donors; help obtain door prizes and gifts for gala
• Contact alumni groups within the DC, MD, VA area to assist students from the 15 colleges and/or universities to attend gala (April in Wash., DC)
• Help write vignettes and edit the annual calendar of distinguished black women; help do layout for printer
• Help recruit additional volunteers and members
• Help set up annual exhibit of distinguished black women in the Martin Luther King Memorial Library and Oxon Hill Library
• Help file in BISA's office; place photos in binders, monthly records, check computer files, sort directory listings, check address lists -- update student records
• Help write and mail out the quarterly newsletter (The Black Woman)
• Volunteers to go on speaking engagements for BISA
• BISA is a national organization -- BISA needs additional members to mentor more young women while they are attending college
