As a BISA member, you will be a part of a dynamic organization that's dedicated to the educational and career advancement of young black women. BISA members also act as mentors for BISA scholars. BISA members meet once a month to discuss the status of their mentoring relationship with BISA scholars, plan special events, get updates on the scholarship program, fundraising, etc.

BISA members are asked to specify at least one area in which they would like to volunteer. Areas of volunteerism include: Scholarship Program, Annual Calendar Project, Fundraising, Quarterly Newsletter, Travel Program (Africa, Brazil, etc.) , Membership Recruitment, and Administrative Assistance.
